Kai Meador is from Ontario, Canada.  She graduated with honors from Wilfrid Laurier University, in Waterloo ON, in 2003 with a bachelorís degree in Kinesiology.  Following graduation, Kai continued her studies in health sciences by attending Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA.  She completed her Masters degree in the Science of Physical Therapy in 2006.  Currently, Kai is enrolled in the distance education program at St Augustine University and is completing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with a specialization in Sports Physical Therapy. Since completion of graduate school, she has worked with a variety of patients of varying age and diagnoses with individually unique rehabilitation goals in an outpatient orthopedic setting.

With special interests in sport and exercise, Kai has been involved in the facilitation of various research studies involving the effects of physical activity across all age groups.  She has completed a pilot research study involving the effect of education and exercise with children prediagnosed with type II diabetes with Childrenís Healthcare of Atlanta.  She has worked with GSUís department of exercise physiology studying the VO2 max levels of high level cyclists.  She has also led a qualitative research study with the Arthritis Foundation of America studying the effect of the PACE program on self efficacy in older adults with knee osteoarthritis across communities in Georgia.

Kai has expanded her clinical knowledge and practice in the field of orthopedics with many hours of continuing education. Kai is certified in Integrative Dry Needling and has an advanced specialization in the treatment of sport injuries. Kai has also explored a special interest in the practice of Pilates and is a certified mat instructor by Power Pilates. She is a Pilates Method Alliance Member and teaches beginner to advanced mat classes at Atlanta Sport and Spine. Kai has also found an interest in the mechanics of the foot and ankle and its effect on the spine, hip and knee.  She specializes in the analysis of gait and the fabrication of custom made sport and pedestrian orthotics.

When not treating patients, Kai is an avid tennis player and plays year round with ALTA, USTA and T2 tennis leagues throughout Atlanta. She also enjoys doing Pilates, Yoga, running and spending down time at home with her husband, David, and their two dogs, Bruiser and Alex.
